The universal symbol of the cross can be seen with the extensive semantic implications in many myths and rites. In the rite of “Booke Baaraan” (that means: the bride of rain), they wear a woman's dress on a wooden cross as the bride of rain, then songing girls turn it from home to home. At the end of the rite, they leave the doll (bride of rain) by the river or fountain. In this study, the symbolic role of the cross as the foundation of the rite has been studied by the method of symbology. The cross symbolizes fertility, blessing and connection between earth and sky. The cross is worn by a cloth, that itself is a woven of warps and wefts that lie over each other like a cross. The rain drops and their impact on the earth draw a cross, and if it causes plants to grow, another cross will be drawn that also resembles a cosmic tree. In this rite, dolls, girls and women in connection with each other represent the life-cycle from lifeless to alive and from death to life. The group movement of songing girls is also a symbol of a collective desire that has been demonstrated in many other group walkings since long ago. pin is one of the symbols of woman hood and fertility which is donated to “Booke Baaraan” at the end of the ceremony.
