Abstract
The purpose of this study is a sociological analysis of the effect of superstitions on the way of life among residents of District 4 of Tehran with a critical approach. Three hypotheses are presented from the theoretical framework of the research, which is based on the theories of Weber, Bourdieu, Merton and Durkheim. Based on the research problem, two methods of documentation and survey have been used. According to the 2016 census, the population living in District 4 of Tehran was 861280 people, of which 385 people were selected as a statistical sample using simple random sampling based on Cochran's formula. Findings show that three independent variables in this study (moral superstitions, religious superstitions and social superstitions) affect the lifestyle of people, in other words, people who believe in superstitions compared to people who believe in this They do not have the type of superstition, they have a much more traditional lifestyle, and conversely, people who do not believe in the moral superstitions prevalent in society have a more modern lifestyle than other people who believe in this type of superstition. Correlation between other independent variables, ie superstitions Social and lifestyle was seen, that is, the impact of social superstitions on the lifestyle of people has been highlighted. The multiple regression test, which was performed to fit the theoretical model, confirmed the relationship between the variables of belief superstition, moral superstition and social superstition, and people's lifestyle.
